Helijector

Helijector

The Helijector system is a self-contained skid-mounted foam proportioning unit consisting of a foam storage tank, water turbine, foam pump, and all interconnecting pipework. Built from materials approved for offshore use, all components are mounted within a durable steel-framed skid.

Primarily designed for offshore helideck fire protection, the Helijector system is available in three sizes to accommodate constant flow rates of 900, 1800, and 2700 liters per minute at 7 bar using National Foam’s oscillating monitor. It is also suitable for any fixed foam system with a known constant flow, especially where minimal maintenance is desired.

The Helijector unit operates without an external power source, relying solely on the fire main water. It activates immediately when the water inlet valve opens after the pump starts. The initial foam supply provides between 10 to 30 minutes of operation at 7 bar, but the atmospheric foam storage tank can be replenished during use, allowing for continuous operation.

Designed for precise foam concentrate injection, the Helijector system delivers a fixed 1% foam solution for systems with constant demand of 900, 1800, or 2700 liters per minute at 7 bar inlet pressure; a 3% foam solution is an option for a 900-liter/min system. The system’s foam pump automatically adjusts to variations in water flow to ensure consistent concentrate proportioning despite minor pressure fluctuations.
