VALVES

Water-Powered Ball Valves

Water-powered ball valves are used in foam proportioning systems that require automatic foam concentrate discharge. These valves are actuated by the pressurized water supply, eliminating the need for additional power sources or control signals.  The water source can be supplied from a ratio controller sensing port, a deluge alarm line, or an alarm check valve, allowing the system to be activated by the water control valve or system pressurization. After operation, the valve must be manually closed.

The valve assembly also supports manual override. In systems where the water line is continuously pressurized, the water-powered ball valve can control the foam concentrate discharge valve by integrating a solenoid valve.  This will allow positive shutoff of the pressurized water source until energized by a remote signal.

Features and Benefits

  • Compatible with most foam concentrates

  • Equipped with a water inlet strainer to prevent debris from blocking the supply line

  • Operates effectively with water pressures as low as 30 PSI (2 BAR)

  • Constructed with corrosion-resistant materials for durability

  • Simple operation with manual override functionality

  • Automatic foam discharge capability without costly control systems

  • Clearly marked and easily identifiable open and closed positions
