Triton, the newest member of National Foam’s ‘Big Flow’ family of high capacity pumps, hose, hose deployment, and water/foam solution delivery devices, is a mobile, floating pump system that feeds high capacity (5,000 gpm) water to large primary pumps at positive pressure. Triton eliminates the need to pump from draft and dramatically increases the area in which primary pumps can be deployed and operated.
The Triton system consists of two hydraulically powered, deployable, floating satellite pumps (400 lbs each) that are driven by an onboard hydrostatic pump system. The hydrostatic pump system consists of a Caterpillar ACERT C9, 350 hp diesel powered engine that drives two variable displacement hydraulic pumps. The pressurized hydraulic fl uid powers the fl oating satellite pump motors through 150 ft hydraulic hose lines.
